The first of the new series of Captains' Challenge Races was certainly challenging, as the Frimley Park Hospital 10K saw twenty Windle Valley Runners take on the hills of Camberley, on a route that took them out along the Portsmouth Road and then over a switchback of Crawley Hill and its side roads, before finishing back at the hospital. There were some excellent performances which saw club members picking up trophies in both the men's and the women's races.
Jenny Livesey was first senior lady home, Keith Hull won the Men's 60+ category with Geoff Williams second, Danny Mahoney was third in the Men's 40+, Laura Hales was 2nd in the Ladies' vets (running for Woking, not us, boo hiss).
There were plenty of other fine performances too, as the table of results shows.
Captains' Spot Prize
Jenny Livesey was the 7th WVR finisher, so is the winner of the Marks and Spencer's voucher donated by captains Dee and Steve.
