Just a quick note to say that there was a good turnout by the Windle Team today at the Frimley Park Run.
Weather wise, it started quite warm, notching up a scorching 9 degrees. As it grew closer to the starting time, the temperature plummeted to a conservative guess of about minus 2 degrees! (check out my frozen pinkies after pressing a stop watch for what seemed a life time)
So with over 230 runners biting at the bit, the field set off on time with many supporters cheering on.
As well as former 5000m gold medallist winner Paula Fudge, we were treated to the presence of former winner of the 1983 London Marathon Mike Gratton who sailed in at a respectable time of 20.30
Right, our Team as follows including three PBs to boot:
Pete Manion 19.08
Keith Hull 20.16 PB
Laura Hales 20.00 PB
Chris Dent 23.08 PB
Martin Cox 23.29
Robin Wakefield 23.57
Zira Longley 24.23
Anne-Marie McLaren 26.59
Pam Berriman 27.04
Well done to all
Tony
Tony, had a few people say to me afterwards how good it was to have their half way times shouted out. Looks like you'e a permanent role there if your mits can stand it! Club day next Sat, would be good to have a big turnout to help recruit a few new Windle members. Pete
